Session 1 Transportation and Parking

If your student is not coming to EPIC by bus, it is recommended the parent go to check-in with the student.

Signing up for transportation is free.  You will select the bus option in step 2 of registration.

However, the following fees will apply in these cases:

  • $50 fee if you do not show up to take the bus you signed up for.
  • $50 sign-up fee for the bus after the registration deadline (space permitting).
  • $25 fee for each bus change

Session 1 Buses

Northern California

A shuttle bus will be available to transport students from the San Lorenzo and San Jose areas for the beginning of EPIC on Sunday,  and at the end of EPIC on Friday. This shuttle bus will pick-up and drop-off at KIPP King Collegiate High School at 2005 Via Barrett, San Lorenzo, CA 94580 and KIPP San Jose Collegiate High School at 1790 Educational Park Drive, San Jose, CA 95133. See schedules below for further details.

Southern California

A shuttle bus will be available to transport students from the Los Angeles area for the beginning of EPIC on Sunday, and at the end of EPIC on Friday. This shuttle bus will pick-up and drop-off at Da Vinci Charter School located at 201 N. Douglas Street, El Segundo, CA 90245. A shuttle bus will also be available at the end of camp on Saturday for students from South San Luis Obispo County. See schedules below for further details.

Parking

Students driving to EPIC will need to obtain a parking permit from the Grand Avenue kiosk, or purchase one at the time of registration. The kiosk is closed on weekends but students will be given time to purchase these Monday morning. Parking permits cost $15 for the entire week. Please downloand or print the residential parking map for locations.

From the South on Route 101...

Traveling north on route 101 to San Luis Obispo:

  • Driving through most of San Luis Obispo, Exit the Fwy at California Street exit 203C.
  • Make a right turn onto California Street. Follow this road under the Cal Poly stadium.
  • Turn right onto Highland Street, and continue until the stop sign.
  • Continue straight and follow Highland as it curves left and merges into Via Carta, follow this road nearly to the end, if you reach the Arboretum, you’ve gone too far.
  • Turn right onto Village Drive; follow this road for quite some time until you reach the stop sign after traveling up a hill. Turn left ono Truckee Road which quickly merges into Klamath Rd.
  • Follow Klamath until you reach the R1 Parking lot. Parking is free during the weekends. This is where you can park to drop your students off at Trinity housing.

 

From the North on Route 101...

Traveling south on route 101 to San Luis Obispo:

  • Turn right onto Highland Street

From Monterey via Scenic Route 1, The Pacific Coast Highway...

Traveling south on highway 1:

  • As you approach San Luis Obispo the first stop light on the edge of town is Highland Avenue (see map).
  • Turn left at Highland to enter the North-West entrance to the campus.
  • Follow Highland Ave as it goes under the train tressel and enters campus.
  • Continue straight and follow Highland as it curves left and merges into Via Carta, follow this road nearly to the end, if you reach the Arboretum, you’ve gone too far.
  • Turn right onto Village Drive; follow this road for quite some time until you reach the stop sign after traveling up a hill. Turn left ono Truckee Road which quickly merges into Klamath Rd.
