Session 1 Buses

If we have at least 10 campers from North  and South San Luis Obispo County, we will provide a daily bus for the day camp program participants.

Bus pick up and drop off for South San Luis Obispo County will be at Righetti High School, Fesler Junior High and Arroyo Grande High School. 

North San Luis Obispo County pick up / drop off locations will be  Daniel Lewis Middle School, Templeton Middle School, and Atascadero Junior High School.

Note: We currently have low numbers of applicants requesting transportation so it is very likely we will NOT provide a daily bus.  We will confirm as soon as possible

Dropping Campers Off On Monday

If the student is being dropped off on campus, be sure to arrive on campus between 8:20 and 8:40AM each day. On Monday, the student will need to be checked in at the Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) Building 007. Please park in parking lot H2 in a metered parking space and have your student walk to the ATL. You must pay for parking so please put a sufficient amount of coins in the meters. Meters provide 10 minutes per quarter, 4 minues per dime, and 2 minutes per nickel. You may also purchase a parking permit at the visitor center on Grand Avenue or at any of the parking dispensers around campus. All other days, campers can simply be dropped off in the H2 parking lot and meet their group at the ATL. Sessions 2, 3 and 4 Buses

Southern California

A shuttle bus will be available to transport students from the Los Angeles area for the beginning of EPIC on Sundays, July 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, and at the end of EPIC on Fridays, July 21st, 28th and August 4th. This shuttle bus will pick-up and drop-off at Da Vinci Charter School located at 13500 Aviation Blvd in Hawthorne, CA. A shuttle bus will also be available at the end of camp on Friday for students from South San Luis Obispo County. Northern California

A shuttle bus will be available to transport students from the Oakland and San Jose areas for the beginning of EPIC on Sundays, July 16th, 23rd and 30th, and at the end of EPIC on Fridays, July 21st, 28th and August 4th. This shuttle bus will pick-up and drop-off at Merritt Community College located at 12500 Campus Dr, Oakland, CA 94619 and Kipp San Jose Collegiate School, 1790 Educational Park Dr, San Jose, CA 95133. See schedules below for further details.

South SLO County

We are NOT providing a shuttle to EPIC on Sunday, July 9th. Parents need to bring their student to Cal Poly. We will, however, provide a shuttle bus to Santa Maria on Saturday, July 18th. Students will be dropped off at Allan Hancock College.

Session 2, 3 and 4 Parking

Students driving to EPIC will need to obtain a parking permit from the Grand Avenue kiosk, or purchase one at the time of registration. The kiosk is closed on weekends but students will be given time to purchase these Monday morning. Parking permits cost $15 for the entire week. Please downloand or print the residential parking map for locations.

From the South on Route 101...

Traveling north on route 101 to San Luis Obispo:

  • Go through much of San Luis Obispo and exit at the Grand Avenue/Cal Poly exit (see map).
  • Turn left onto Grand Avenue and go (uphill) approximately 1/4 mile to the south entrance of the campus.
  • Ahead on your right is the Cal Poly Visitor Information Center. Here you can obtain a parking permit, campus map, and a warm greeting!

 

From the North on Route 101...

Traveling south on route 101 to San Luis Obispo:

  • As you approach San Luis Obispo, Exit the Fwy at Monterey Street (the first exit in SLO).
  • Make a right turn, then an immediate left turn onto the frontage road (see map; you will be going the same direction you were on the Freeway).
  • Go approximately 3 blocks to Grand Ave.
  • Turn right (going uphill) and go approximately 1/4 mile to the south entrance of the campus.
  • Ahead on your right is the Cal Poly Visitor Information Center. Here you can obtain a parking permit, campus map, and a warm greeting!

 

From Monterey via Scenic Route 1, The Pacific Coast Highway...

Traveling south on highway 1:

  • As you approach San Luis Obispo the first stop light on the edge of town is Highland Avenue (see map).
  • Turn left at Highland to enter the North-West entrance to the campus.
  • Follow Highland Ave as it goes under the train tressel and into the lower parking lot area. Continue straight until you reach a stop sign.
  • Turn right and then right again into the parking lot.
